A few things to keep in mind when family and friends are visiting in The Villages community.

Age Requirements

In a regular (not street legal) golf cart drivers must be at least 14 years old.

If you own a street legal golf cart the same rules that apply to your automobile also apply to your golf cart, drivers must have a valid state issued driver’s license to operate the golf cart.

Golf cart insurance is fairly inexpensive in relation to the amount of coverage offered. If you have liability coverage on your golf cart the coverage may extend to the person you give permission to drive your golf cart.

Do you know what the liability limits are on your golf cart? Did you know that for just a few dollars more you can increase your limits? What about a personal umbrella policy?

Rules of the Road

Be mindful of posted speed limits and obey the rules of the road. Yes, you can get a citation for breaking the laws of the road in your golf cart.
